About Grove College
Grove College is the natural centre of education for 16-19
year old students from Market Drayton and the surrounding
areas of Northeast Shropshire and nearby parts of Staffordshire.
The Coordinator of Grove College is Mrs Mary Elkin, who
with her assistant, Mrs Jane Fisher oversees all aspects
of students' studies. She leads a team of tutors responsible
for the welfare, support and guidance of students.
The College is based in the delightful Grade II listed
Grove House which stands alongside Grove School on Grove
Campus. The buildings have been adapted to be an
ideal centre for students.
The College is part of Grove Campus and shares staffing
and facilities with Grove School, but has an ethos all
of its own. Students can enjoy the best of both worlds
- being a member of a College community while having use
of the resources of the whole of Grove Campus.
Through forward-looking curriculum development, we are
constantly opening up fresh opportunities for Grove College
students. The flexible and innovative timetable structure,
which includes a "Third Session" from 3.30pm
to 5.30pm, allows programmes of study to be tailored very
closely to what individuals need. Whilst most courses are
taught by Grove staff, a small number are provided during
the Third Session through an imaginative partnership with
New College, Telford. Provision includes GCSE and OCR National
options and a good range of AS level and A2 level courses.
Well-qualified, experienced and caring teachers offer excellent teaching and
the college has a strong record of academic success, particularly at GCE A level.
Able students frequently record outstanding results.
