Community Support for Grove

As the only Secondary School in the Market Drayton area, Grove takes its responsibility as part of the local community seriously.

We are also very fortunate to receive support and help from both individuals and groups willing to give time and expertise to enhance the learning experience for our students.

We currently benefit from:

• The work of many mentors who support individual students through the Grove ConneX scheme.
• Help with students needing additional or specialist learning programmes in our Individual Learning Centre.
• Training in the workplace for students following NVQ programmes in many areas including Business, Administration, Hairdressing, Horse Management and Motor Vehicle Engineering.
• A Family Support Worker
• Work placements in local businesses for nearly 200 Year 10 students every year for two weeks' Work Experience.
• Additional extended work placements for a small number of studnets following modified timetables.
• Visiting speakers
• A close working relationship with local Community Support Officers.
