Grove enters students for a wide variety of examinations
at different levels. These include GCSE, ALAN tests, Key Skills,
NVQ, OCR National, AS and A2 level.
- In recent years the passrate at Advanced level has
risen, and is now consistently high. The vast majority of students from Grove College seeking Higher Education
places this summer were successful, with nearly all getting their first choice.
- The Key GCSE figure
of students reaching 5+ GCSE passes at Grade C or better
has also climbed steadily and the school
was very pleased to record its highest ever level of 59.5% in 2009 However,
this headline figure does not show the great successes
of our more able students: in 2009 over 38%
of students achieved over 10 higher passes and our flexible
curriculum allows some to pass 12, 13 or even 14 subjects.
- Substantial
numbers of students added vocational awards to GCSE passes
this Summer, mainly National Vocational Qualifications
earned in partnership with local businesses. We
also had good success with Key Skills qualifications.
Good attendance is vital to successful education and Grove
works hard with our Education Welfare Officer to eliminate
truancy.
Grove has a policy of Inclusion and the number of permanently exclusions is consistently low.
