Stoke on Tern Friendship Visit
In January , 14 Year 6 pupils from Stoke-on-Tern Primary School, accompanied by their teacher, Mrs Ros Flanders, spent two hours at Grove catching up with their friends and class-mates who came to Grove last September. On their arrival, Mr Dave Munn, the school librarian, entertained the Stoke-on-Tern pupils with a general knowledge quiz on Finding Your Way Around the Library. Sixteen Year 7 pupils were released from lessons to talk to the visitors, who had prepared a list of questions for them about life at Grove, and talking to the Grove students helped to allay any fears or concerns they might have had. The children spent break together and the Year 6 pupils then paid a visit to the Individual Learning Centre before returning to Stoke-on-Tern. Mrs Flanders said "There was a tremendous buzz on the bus coming back, the children felt more confident about coming to Grove in September and are looking forward to more freedom.”
Further feedback from the children was all very positive, with one child saying, "We know that it is a safe school to go to."
