FunMaths Roadshow

Grove held a FunMaths road show on 19 November.  During the morning 100 primary school children attended and worked with 30 year 7 students with the help of some year 12 students.  The sports  hall was set up with tables in a circular lay-out and children in small groups completed about 30 puzzles in 1½ hours.  Children moved around the room tackling the puzzles and once completed moved onto the next table and so on until all had been completed.  The exercise was then repeated during the afternoon at Market    Drayton Junior School where approximately 80 children participated.

Schools taking part in the programme at Grove were: Adderley, Cheswardine, Longlands, Moreton Saye, Norton in Hales, Stoke on Tern, and Woore Primary Schools.

The following are some lovely comments from year 6 primary school children who attended the roadshow.

“I won two prizes, it was great working in groups.”

“Well good!”

“Gets your brains going.”

“Some of the puzzles were really hard but it was great getting them right.”

“Better than normal.”

“Challenging!”

“Fun and hard but great playing against each other.”

“Enjoyed working together.”

“I enjoyed best the hard puzzles.”
