Girls snaffle cup in last game!
Congratulations to our U14 girls football team who finished top of the form at the North Shropshire School Football Tournament held at Sir John Talbot School this week. The girls were unbeaten throughout the six-team tournament. They left it late when a goal by Demi Phipps, with only 30 seconds to go, saw them beat Lakelands School from Ellesmere to take the trophy.
Head of girls' PE Miss Murphy, said: " It was a round robin tournament and the girls played some really nice football, with some good passing and movement. They were very pleased to beat Thomas Adams and the Corbet school from Baschurch because they don't beat them very often." Goal hero Demi said "It was a great finish to the tournament and I think we played really well." Headteacher Ms Radbourne said: "It's great news to start the new year with and we've celebrating in our assemblies throughout the week. I'm very proud to have the North Shropshire champions in our school and I'm especially pleased that the team demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the competition."

The girls are: Sophie & Demi Phipps, Sophie Pearson, Emma Bennett, Sarah Cook, Laura Coggins, Alice Booker, Chloe Bentley & Bethany Reardon. Well done girls!
