Year 7 students support LEPRA

All Year 7 students at Grove have taken part in a sponsored event to raise money for the British Leprosy Relief Association.

Just before half term students spent one lesson on a programme of aerobic exercises, having encouraged family and friends to sponsor them.

Over £700 has been collected and sent to Avril Price, Community Fundraiser for LEPRA, who has expressed her thanks in a letter to the school.

Avril visited the school on Thursday 16th March and presented T-shirts and certificates to the students who had collected most for the charity. Avril talked to students and said she was delighted that the large sum raised will enable 40 sufferers to be cured of leprosy.

The event was organised by Mrs Jayne Williams, the school's Citizenship Co-ordinator.
