South Africa and Namibia

During the last summer hoiliday a group of Grove students visited South Africa and Namibia and they recently gave a presentation of their experiences. The evening was hosted by the students themselves and included a slide show of the places visited set to themed music.
The students also talked about their impressions of the places they visited and the people they met - things thay will always stay with them. A central part of the trip was a visit to Vukani School. This township school has now been supported by Grove's fundraising activities for several years and our students received a wonderful welcome.
The presentation finished with the impressions of one of the adults who accompanied the trip and who said the young people had been a credit to the school and their parents in the way they conducted themselves. Finally, Mrs Jackson's legendary baking skills were once again on display as the guests enjoyed a treat with a glass of wine (South African, of course)

Headteacher Jane Radbourne was full of praise for the students. She thanked them for their presentation, and Mrs Jackson and the others who had accompanied the group.
