World Book Day at Grove
Thursday 2nd March is World Book Day and, to mark this, Grove has a week of events with an African theme.
In the lead up to the day itself, students are using some of their English lesson time to write short stories based on African Folk Tales. The stories will be judged with prizes for the best authors.

During break and lunch times students are also decorating panels that will be put together to make an African tent and joining in quizzes and book reviews.
On Tuesday the panels will be stitched together to make the tent which will be used for more quizzes and games associated with reading and Africa. The winners of the story competition will be chosen and prizes of book tokens awarded.
Grove Catering are also getting involved -on the day they will be offering a special menu that will include African dishes. Displays of African art and artifacts will be mounted by the Art department.
On Wednesday 8th March we have a visiting speaker, Gordon Dickins. He will be in school during lunchtime talking to students and discussing recent books that they may like to read.

The events have been organised by Ms Leanne Taylor who joine us this term as our new Librarian.
