Grove Dances for Children in Need

Students at Market Drayton’s Grove School threw
themselves into raising money for
Children in Need on Friday 17th November. They paid 50p each for the privilege of not
wearing school uniform and, after a fairly normal morning,
had a special afternoon of sponsored activities to raise funds.
A mass inter-House netball shooting tournament took place, with the aim is simply to see which House could score most goals with 10 hoops and 20 balls in 10 minutes.

Then, following the success of last year’s Macarena dance and an unforgettable conga to the strains of “Amarillo”, over 1000 students performed a carefully co-ordinated rendition of YMCA with full actions.

The School Council, who have organised the event, are confident of once again raising a substantial four-figure sum for the charity.
Grove has a long tradition of supporting charities and has won the Giving Nation award for the West Midlands and Southwest regions three years in a row.
