We are looking forward to a busy time before we break for the summer holiday. The external exam season is over and students who have been working hard in recent weeks can look forward to a well-earned break until the results come in August.
Before the end of term, Tuesday 13th, Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th July we will be welcoming groups of year 5 students from our partner primary schools to Grove for a first taster of what life is like in a secondary school. They will be able to sample a selection of lessons in subjects such as ICT, PE, Design Technology and Languages, as well as enjoying a Grove Catering meal!
All year 10 students from Monday 12th July will have two weeks work experience with local businesses – a very important time when they can experience and start to understand what life in the real world of work is like.
Every year, a group of Year 7 pupils, accompanied by 4 staff, take part in a visit to Le Touquet, a market town on the Opal Coast of France. They will visit Boulogne as well as Nausicaa, also the French National Sea Life Centre and a traditional chocolaterie. They will have the opportunity to try out a little French when ordering their ice creams as well as when shopping at the hypermarket. This visit is always a great success. Add to that the Sports Day on Friday 16th July and a mountain of preparation for next year and you can see we have a more than busy time!
