New Head of Grove Appointed




Governors interviewed seven candidates on Monday 9th, Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th January to select a headteacher to take over the running of the school after the retirement of Richard Arrowsmith

They are pleased to announce that, after an exhaustive and thorough process, Ms Jane Radbourne has been appointed. She will take over in September.
Jane emerged as the outstanding candidate in a very strong field and received the Governors' unanimaous endorsement.
Jane's career has advanced through appointments in a number of schools in a variety of Local Authority areas. At present she is Principal Deputy Headteacher at Moreton School, an 11 - 18 comprehensive in Wolverhampton. Her current responsibilities include school improvement and self-review, strategic planning, target setting and performance management. She also manages staff recruitment and disciplinary matters.

On her appointment, Jane commented:
"I am absolutely delighted and feel very privileged to be offered the opportunity to lead Grove through the next stage in the school's development. I look forward to September with excitment, working with Governors, LA, colleagues, parents and students"
Chair of the Governors' Personnel Committee Barry Pitt commented that the Governors were looking for someone who would work closely and supportively with staff to build on the impressive progress made under Richard Arrowsmith.
