Languages Masterclass
Well over 100 Year 11 students from 15 schools across Shropshire, Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent have benefited from a languages masterclass organised by Grove School.
Students attended morning sessions in French, German and Spanish to enhance and refine their linguistic skills. After a break, conversation sessions were run by Keele University students focusing on debating environmental issues and using language creatively.
The afternoon sessions gave students the opportunity to experience “taster sessions” in Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Spanish.

Feedback on the day was very positive. One student concluded that it was “a very entertaining day”!
Teachers commented that the conference provided “a great opportunity for the students to see how valuable languages are” and that the programme was “a useful balance of languages students can use now and wider awareness of language per se”
