New Faces

Grove has started the new school year with quite a few new faces on both the teaching and support staff. With a number of teachers having retired this summer and others moving on to promotion, vacancies have arisen and the changes to the curriculum and timetable have also meant the school has needed additional teachers in some subject areas.

We are delighted that all teaching vacancies have been filled with subject specialists. A number of new recruits to the profession are starting their careers with Grove whilst we are pleased to have gained the services of other experienced staff.

 

The new teachers are Mrs R Lucas (2nd in English department), Miss J Broughton and Mr D Littleford (PE), Miss E Lambert (ICT), Miss K Carter, Mr G Smith and Miss L Haines (Science), Mr L Gibson (Geography), Mrs F Pluse and Mr W Turnbull (Maths), Ms L Taylor and Miss K Saunders (English). Two other changes have seen Mr C McStay appointed as an additional Assistant Head and Miss S Jones promoted to Head of History.

Three new Teaching Assistants have started: Miss N Finney, Mrs S Bason and Mrs C Davies. The school has also added two Cover Supervisors who provide support for teachers and cover when staff are absent. They are Mrs Y Calvert and Miss V Basini.
