GCSE records broken again
Grove students are celebrating after achieving the school's best-ever GCSE results.
52% of students achieved five or more higher grade GCSE passes (or equivalent) including English and Maths whilst the provisional figure of 69% achieving five higher passes in any subjects was Grove's best ever result.
Jane Radbourne was delighted for the students and said that the results clearly show the sustained improvement in standards at Grove and was the culmination of a tremendous amount of hard work by both students and teachers.
She was also very pleased with the outstanding results achieved by the most able students: 47% of the year group achieved 10 or more higher passes whilst some had Grade C or better in up to 15 subjects. Amongst the top performers was Allison Smith who collected seven A* and five A grades in subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geography. Sarah Cook also counted five A*s in her results.
Headteacher Jane Radbourne Commented:
"These are our best results ever and a large number of students have achieved fantastic success. I am sure everyone will be really delighted with the continued improvement in results because students and staff have worked very hard. Parents have also been brilliant in their support."
