Uniform changes
The start of a new school year has seen the introduction
of a significant uniform change at Grove.
Seven years ago a white open-neck polo shirt with a
school logo was introduced for students in Years 10 and
11, worn with a choice of a black or burgundy sweat shirt.
This replaced the collar and tie, but the uniform for
Key Stage 3 students (Years 7, 8 and 9) remained traditional
with a blue shirt and tie.
Polo shirts have always been popular and the decision
was taken last year to make the change to polo shirts
for all students. The new shirts for Years 7 to 9 are
light blue with a burgundy motif, and they look very
smart. The uniform sweatshirt for Key Stage 3 students
id still navy.
Although the introduction was planned to be phased,
with Year 7 wearing the new uniform for now, there was
an option for Years 8 and 9 to change immediately and
a very large majority have done so. All uniform item
continue to be available by mail order or by on-line
ordering from our suppliers, Trutex.
May we please remind you that only polo shirts with
the Grove logo are acceptable as uniform. We are also
pleased that virtually all students are coming to school
in correct, black footwear: remember, trainers should
not be worn in school.
