Vukani Football Visitors

 

We are delighted to welcome a visiting football team from Vukani School in South Africa, who have come to participate in the Tigers' 6-a-side tournament.

Vukani School is in a township just outside Capetown and is Grove's "adopted" school: several thousands of pounds have been raised and donated to support education for the youngsters there.

Their trip has been made possible by fundraising of Grove School, Market Drayton Tigers and the Rotary Club and the students are staying with families in pairs.

Their stay is packed with football activities, inlcuding a training session at Stoke City and a trip to Manchester United to see Old Trafford and have a training session at the Cliff - their academy training ground.

The youngsters are excited to have also been invited to visit RAF Shawbury.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Grove staff and students have previously made many trips to South Africa and we have also welcomed visiting teachers from Vukani, but this is the first time that students have come to Market Drayton, and the first sporting visit.
