School Uniform

Grove School has a uniform and it is the policy of Governors and the School Leadership Team that it is worn correctly by students.

Grove’s main school uniform will change from September 2012. After consultation with parents and students it has been agreed that the new uniform will be:-

• A blazer
• A tie
• Trousers or Skirt
• Shirt

Details are yet to be finalised but it is envisaged that many items of school uniform will be widely available from local shops and the market, as well as from major stores in nearby towns.

Students are also required to wear a PE uniform (see below). This was changed from September 2011 and can be purchased from Sport United, 17 Shropshire St, Market Drayton, TF9 3DA.

Excessive jewellery and make-up are not allowed. One stud, sleeper or small earring per ear is acceptable as is a small finger ring. These will need to be removed for some activities such as PE. No other studs or jewellery or any other body piercing (such as tongue, lips, nose) are acceptable.

The following are not acceptable for either boys or girls:

• Denim jeans, jackets or shirts
• Camouflage jackets
• Coats decorated with badges, slogans or graffiti
• Extreme hair styles and colours
• Any form of headwear in school
• Trainers, fashion shoes, canvas or plastic footwear

Please label all items of uniform clearly with your child’s name.

PE Uniform

PE is an integral part of the National Curriculum for all years. We ask parents to make sure that students are properly equipped for PE lessons when they occur on the timetable.

Girls Compulsory • Red and white Locker style polo shirt • Red and white Locker shorts or plain black shorts • White sports socks Optional • Red and white Locker style hooded sweatshirt • Black tracksuit bottoms with one piping Compulsory for Health and Safety (available from any sports shop) • Gum shield for hockey • Shin pads for hockey and football • Sports training shoes

Boys Compulsory • Red and white Locker style rugby shirt • Red and white Locker shorts or plain black shorts • Red football socks Optional • Red and white Locker style hooded sweatshirt (not to be worn for rugby or football) • Red and white Locker style polo shirt Compulsory for Health and Safety (available from any sports shop) • Gum shield for hockey and rugby • Shin pads for hockey and football • Football boots • Sports training shoes
