Students taking part in the current photography course run through the ILC were treated to a visit from a Shropshire Falconry company earlier in the term. Mack's Owls from Shrewsbury brought along seven of his feathered friends for the students to photograph and handle. A wonderful afternoon was spent in the sunshine, with lots of beautiful pictures being taken.

The photography course was set up in May 2008 with the support of Alan Taylor a local professional photographer, who delivers a 10 week photography course to pupils. The aim of this project is to provide greater opportunities for students to socialise within small supportive groups. To date this course has supported 36 students with a further 8 currently part way through the course. There are opportunities for students to work with older and younger peers which encourages team work, communication and social skills, as well as the skills learnt in digital photography and ICT during post production.
