The Music Department
All students study music throughout Key Stage 3 and a
GCSE course is available for those who wish to continue
in Key Stage 4. The OCR syllabus, which places an emphasis
on performance is followed and exam results in recent years
have been excellent, often with a 100% pass rate at Grade
C and higher.
Instrumental tuition is available at the school and musicians
have the opportunity to play together in groups and progress
to the Shropshire County School of Music.
The music department regularly plays a major part in school
productions. Students also have the opportunity to join
visits to concerts and theatrical performances.
The two members of the music department are Mr K Sterling,
who is Subject Leader, and Mrs J Magee.
