Curriculum
Grove School and Grove College aim to provide a broad
and flexible curriculum that allows all students to follow
courses that they will find interesting, stimulating and
appropriate to their needs.
| Key
Stage 3 |
In Key Stage 3
(Years 7 - 9) Grove's curriculum meets the requirements
of the National Curriculum but also places an emphasis
on students developing the skills (which we call
competences) that will help them learn, co-operate
successfully with others and develop as citizens. |
| Key Stage 4 |
Our Key Stage 4 curriculum offers great choice
and flexibility. Whilst we offer, and value, traditional
GCSE, Applied GCSE and GNVQ courses, our co-operation
with colleges and local employers has opened up very
different opportunities for students. Grove has attracted
national interest and praise for the way vocational
options have been developed and integrated with more
traditional elements of the curriculum. |
| Grove
College |
Grove College provides a good
range of post-16 courses. Although the emphasis
is on AS, A2 and VCE subjects we also offer a limited
range of Level 2 courses in GNVQ. |
| The Third Session |
The Third Session runs after
the normal school day and offers students courses
that they would otherwise not be able to take. |
|
Students at Grove have many opportunities for activities
outside normal lessons. |
