The History Department

The members of the history teaching staff are Miss S Jones, who is Subject Leader, Mr S Charnley and Miss N Bolas

All students study History throughout Years 7 to 9.  GCSE History is a popular option in Years 10 and 11.  The syllabus currently in use is the Schools History Project and students specifically study the American West and Medicine through time.

Advanced level History is also available as an option in Grove College and is a popular choice.

The department emphasizes the importance of giving pupils the experience of learning from historical sites and visits to enrich learning.

In particular, we explore Grove House and Shugborough Hall and there are theatre visits for Year 7.
