The Information and Communication Technology Department

Information and Communication Technology is widely used across almost all subjects in the school as an aid to teaching and learning, but there is also a very strong ICT department teaching the subject discretely.  The ICT Coordinator is Gary Foster, who has oversight of all ICT use and development in school and is also Head of the ICT (teaching) department.  Also teaching ICT are Mr T Kinnersley, who also teaches Business Studies, Mrs K Barber and Miss D Rafferty (both also teaching Languages), Mrs J Jones and Miss E Lambert. 

In Key stage 3 all students study ICT for a lesson each week as well as having curriculum time for other subjects in one of our six main computer suites.  In Year 10 students continue with a core lesson of ICT as well as having the option of ICT courses that lead to higher qualifications - The Certificate in Digital Applications or Award in Digital Applications.

ICT is also a popular and successful subject in Grove College at Advanced level.
