In 2004-05…..
The House Captains served the House
well and took an active part in every Assembly. Andrew
Viggars deserves a special mention for playing a very
active part each week. We finished down the pecking
order this year in the Inter-House Sports. I hope
that we will be successful in Sports Day this year. The
Record Book cover competition was very close this year. There
were lots of entries. The winner was an excellent
design by Andrew Viggars.
The Arts festival was a superb event. Although
we did not win, it certainly felt like it. I must
mention Kieran Turner, Rhys Williams, Jessica Orrey and
Stephanie Collins who took part at extremely short notice. They
entered the Drama competition and did really well. Andrew
Viggars played a marvelous violin solo. He finished
second. Bethany Williams and Claire Minshall also
sang beautifully in their competition and also finished
second. It was brilliant to watch all our participants
and we have our eyes on that trophy for next year.
We lost the multi-talented Mr Wardell this year. In
his final assembly, he gave us a stirring rendition of ‘Is
This the Way to Amarillo’. He will be sorely
missed. The other tutors have continued to show
our lighter side and our Christmas Assembly featured
all of us - a truly enlightening experience! We
welcomed three new tutors to South House. Ms McLoughlin,
Ms Hodgkins and Ms Rooney have become very active members
of our team.
2004-05 was a year of changes in South House and we
are looking to build on our experiences in 2005-6.
