SCHOOL UNIFORM
The Grove School has a uniform and it is the
policy of Governors and the school management that
it is worn, correctly, by all students.
Many items of the school uniform are widely available
in local shops and the market, as well as from the major
stores in nearby towns. School ties, sweatshirts
and polo shirts carry the school logo and need to be purchased
directly from Trutex via mail order. Brochures will
be available from school.
Key Stage Three Uniform (Years 7 – 9)
- pale
blue polo shirt with school logo.
(students in Years 8 and 9 may continue to wear the “old” pale
blue traditional style school shirt and school tie if
they wish)
- navy blue sweatshirt
with V neck with school logo.
- dark
grey or black long trousers of a traditional school type.
(fashion trousers should not be worn)
- dark
grey or black skirt of approximately knee length.
- black
or natural tights or black, grey or white socks.
- plain
black shoes.
- plain
cotton apron for technology.
Key Stage Four Uniform (Years 10 and 11)
- plain
white polo shirt with school logo.
- sweatshirt
in black or burgundy with school logo.
- dark
grey or black long trousers of a traditional school type.
(fashion trousers should not be worn).

grey or black skirts of approximately knee length.
- black
or natural tights, or black, grey or white socks.

Excessive jewellery and make-up are not allowed. One
stud, sleeper or small ear ring per ear is acceptable,
but these will need to be removed for some activities,
such as P.E. No studs, rings or jewellery may be
worn with any other body piercing (such as tongue, lips,
nose).
The following are not acceptable for either boys
or girls:
- sweatshirts and polo shirts other than those with the
school logo
- denim jeans, jackets or shirts
- camouflage jackets
- coats decorated with badges, slogans or graffiti
- extreme hair styles and colours
- any form of headwear in school
- trainers
Pupils should wear comfortable and sensible plain
black shoes appropriate to all-day wear in buildings
with numerous staircases. We do not consider trainers,
fashion shoes, canvas or plastic footwear suitable and
these should not be worn.
PE Clothing
GIRLS
- Plain white polo shirt with Grove PE motif
- Navy skirt,
Navy P.E. pants or
- Plain navy sports shorts (not cycling
shorts)
- White socks or long red hockey socks
- Trainers.
- Plain navy sweatshirt with Grove PE motif
- Plain (no stripes)
navy bottoms (tracksuit
or joggers only no shell suits or leggings) - optional
for outdoors.
Recommended
- Gum shield and shin pads for hockey – available
from any sports shop.
BOYS
- Towel for showering
- Change of Underwear (Boxer shorts are
not suitable for PE)
- Red reversible rugby shirt.
- Red long socks (winter).
- Plain white shorts - conventional
pattern and style
- Plain white polo shirt with Grove PE motif
(summer)
- Plain white socks (summer)
- Plain navy sweatshirt (no motifs)
- Plain (no stripes) navy bottoms (tracksuit
or joggers only no shell suits or leggings) optional
for outdoors.

- Shin pads for hockey and rugby
